Parts of speech
In English the parts or words of different sentences are called parts of speech.
There are 8 parts of speech.
1.Noun
2.Pronoun
3.Adjective
4.Verb
5.Adverb
6.Conjunction
7.Interjection
8.Preposition
1.NOUN
A noun is the name of person , place or a thing.
Example : Boy, book,Lahore, Ali
2.PRONOUN
The word which is used in the place of noun is called pronoun.
Example: He ,she ,it ,i ,we ,you,they
3.ADJECTIVE
An adjective is a word that describes the quality of noun or a pronoun.
Example:Good, bad, rich, black
4.VERB
An action word is called verb.
Example:Read, write, go, play ,eat, drink
5.ADVERB
An adverb is a word used to add something to the meaning of a verb ,an adjective ,or another adverb.
Example:fast, slowly,quickly
6.CONJUNCTION
A conjunction is a word used to join words or sentences.
Example:and ,but, although
7.INTERJECTION
An interjection is a word which expresses some sudden feelings of the mind.
Example: hurrah ! Alas! Aha!
8.Preposition
The preposition is a word which shows the position of one word with regard to another.
Example: in , on above, under, of
